And then I hit return, And it is going to install R 3.6.3 on our machine. And, we are doing this just to make sure that none of our symbols are messed up. And then from here, I'm selecting this entire piece of code. Now I am going to, let me first copy this here. But this command is going to uninstall any previous version of R, if it's there, and it's going to reinstall 3.6.3. So, if you need to use any other version alongside 3.6.3 also, please consult us. If you have any other version 3.5 or 4.0 or anything, that will be uninstalled. Now remember, this piece of code is going to reinstall R on your machine. After which, I will reinstall R, as is written here. This will install Homebrew on my machine.
After this, it is going to start installing Homebrew, I hit return.
This is asking me to give my password, so I enter my password. This will ensure that the quotation marks or any other symbols are not matched up. Copy this, and paste it in your Mac terminal. Now, what I suggest you do is, copy this, and instead of pasting it directly into your Mac terminal, you first open any of your text editor, or maybe this file software here. I'm going to go and, I'm going to go to this repo, and copy this first line of code. And once we have done that, then on the R prompt we are going to run these commands, to install the required packages. The first section has to be run in the Mac terminal, and towards the end if you see, we are calling R inside the Mac terminal itself. So first of all, you need to go to this repo, and here you find these two sections of code. So the provided instructions are here, in this white document, which is available on campus as well. In this installation tutorial, we are going to cover installing R and Rattle on your Mac OS and we will be following the instructions that we shared with you on June 7th.
